USA Hockey District Tournament Tracker 2025: Pacific Youth & Michigan Youth/Girls Tourneys Underway!

While March arrives this weekend, the youth hockey madness began weekend of Feb. 20-23.
USA Hockey Youth and Girls National Championship berths were determined starting that weekend as we moved into state and district tournament season. Up first was the Pacific District Girls Tournament, which started Feb. 20 and ran through Sunday, Feb. 23, in Las Vegas.
In states like Minnesota and Massachusetts, which have high USA Hockey membership numbers and where high-school hockey is extremely popular, Nationals bids for most age groups are determined in the fall before the prep and high-school seasons commence. Other states that have high USA Hockey enrollment such as New York and Michigan also are afforded the opportunity to send their Tier 1 state champions to Nationals, but their tournaments are held at the end of their club seasons in February and March.
The rest of the country is divided into districts, with those districts receiving National Championship bids for their Youth and Girls champions at various age levels. While some Tier 1 and Tier 2 state tournaments are underway or have been completed, the district tournaments are being held in the days and weeks ahead.
Tier 2 National Championship berths are awarded to state champions.
USA Hockey National Championships are held for Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams at various locations around the country in April.

This year’s Tier 1 and 2 USA Hockey National Championships run from April 1-6.
In addition, USA Hockey High School National Championships are scheduled for March 26-30 in Irvine, Calif. The high school national championship tournament features four divisions –Division IA, Division 2A, 3A and Girls.
Below we will provide a running tracker for as many of the Tier 1 District Tournaments as we can. It will be updated until the National Championship participants are finalized.
Minnesota State/District Championship Info

Massachusetts crowns its Tier 1 Youth state champions at the 15O, 16U and 18U age levels in November before the high-school and prep seasons begin.

Including teams from California, Alaska, Washington and Nevada, the Pacific District Tier 1 Girls Tournament was played Feb. 20-23 in Las Vegas.
Games were played at various Las Vegas-area rinks, including America First Center, City National Arena and Hylo Park Arena. America First Center and City National Arena have LiveBarn feeds, so games played there should be available for on-demand viewing.

Jaiden Krushelniski, Ella Ianiero and Margaret Gifford scored, while Olivia Frasso stopped all 16 shots she faced to record the shutout, sending the Lions to Nationals.

Liv Betten scored twice, with Siya Grewal and Danica Beck each handing out a pair of assists, as the Sharks captured the Pacific title. Mia Portnoy had the other San Jose goal, and winning goalie Gillie Ross made 29 saves.

Three different players scored goals for Anaheim, while Anna Manning stopped 27 of the 28 shots she faced, to send the Lady Ducks to Nationals. Sofia Ripley, Elizabeth Sharpe and Emily Olsthoom scored for the winners, with Talia Trujillo dishing out a pair of assists.

Michigan State/District Youth & Girls Tier 1 Tournament Info
Michigan is one of the states that gets to send its Youth and Girls Tier 1 champions to Nationals, and some state runners-up also could receive at-large invitations to round out tournament fields. The Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) tournaments are held in two phases, with the top teams from a round-robin opening round advancing to play in an elimination series for the championship. The Tier 1 Youth and Girls tournaments began Feb. 25 and run through March 9 in Taylor, Mich.
Taylor Sportsplex hosts all of the MAHA Tier 1 Tournament games and does have a LiveBarn feed.
