Ranking Updates
2022-23 Youth Rankings Released
MYHockey Rankings is excited to release the first rankings of the 2022-23 season! The first rankings includes USA Boys national, district and state rankings (2013 through 18U), USA Girls Tier 1 and Tier 2 rankings (12U through 19U), and Canada Girls Tier 1 rankings (U13 through U22).
- USA Boys → Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, Midget Minor, Midget Major
- USA Girls Tier 1 & Tier 2 → 12U, 14U, 16U, 19U
- Canada Girls Tier 1 → U13, U15, U18, U22
The remainder of ranking categories, such as Canada Boys, Canada Girls Tier 2, BB, and B, High School, Juniors and College, remain a work in progress. They will be released in the coming weeks and months when enough teams have reached the five game minimum.
Due to the (5) game minimum requirement to be ranked, at least half of eligible boys and girls teams simply do not qualify for the rankings as of today. If your team has played five (5) games but is not ranked because not all of the game scores have been recorded in MHR, we strongly encourage you to submit missing game scores here. We will update the rankings every Wednesday morning through April.
Please note, hundreds of new teams will reach the five game minimum each week at the start of the season. As a result, all teams but a very select few at the top will drop in the rankings over the next month as we double the number of teams that qualify for the five game minimum. Do not be distracted by this, keep an eye on your team rating and its relative position compared to other teams in your league or area.
Remember, it’s still super early in the season. That means two things. First, the rankings are less than perfectly accurate. With so few games played, the mathematics can be skewed significantly by one or two really good or really bad games. Second, your team has plenty of time to improve its ranking. As the saying goes, it's not where you start that matters, but where you finish.
The MYHockey Rankings’ team is looking forward to another great season. We hope you all enjoy the rankings. Best of luck this season!
