Before we get into Week #2 information, we have a massive announcement!

MYHockey Rankings reached 1,000,000 daily pageviews for the first time ever last Wednesday. A special thank you to all of you who made it happen. We couldn’t have done it without your support, and in some cases, borderline obsessions. Let’s do it again this week.

Week #2 team ratings and rankings are live. This week’s team ratings and rankings brings another level of maturity to the data. The number of rankable game results grew by 9,500 to just over 35k total. The number of teams in a live ranking category has increased 50% to 6,002 teams. 

Remember, hundreds of new teams will reach the five game minimum and enter the rankings each week at the start of the season. As a result, all but a very select few teams at the top of the rankings will drop over the next month as we triple the number of teams that qualify for the five game minimum. Do not be discouraged by this. It’s normal. Keep an eye on your team rating and its relative position compared to other teams in your league and/or area.

It’s a big week for our friends in Ontario. More than twenty-five new Ontario ranking categories went live this week. The first USA High School state rankings were also released. See the full list and links below:

• Ontario AAA Boys → U16, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
• Ontario AA Boys → U16, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
• Ontario A Boys → U16 Check, 2009 Check, 2010 Check, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
• Canada Tier 2 Girls → U18, U15, U13
• Ontario A Girls → U18, U15, U13
• High School (Varsity) → Illinois, Arizona
• High School (JV) → Illinois

A quick update on the organization of teams and leagues in MYHockey. We aim to have all competitive (travel) leagues, divisions and teams updated to reflect the real organization of youth hockey teams across North America.  We have updated every team and division of almost 50 leagues, and volunteers have updated hundreds of league divisions, but dozens of leagues, hundreds of divisions and possibly a thousands teams remain inaccurate due to changes from one year to the next and our inability to make every change as quickly as it is known. But please, keep the updates coming!

Team, Association and/or Division changes and updates can be requested through the Change Request form using the "pencil" icon in the upper right hand corner of the info page.
