We are now through Week 24 of the 2021-22 youth hockey season, and that means the final automatic berths for USA Hockey’s National Championship tournaments have all been decided! This week, with our assistance, USA Hockey will determine the at-large teams to round out the fields for Youth and Girls Tier 1 and Tier 2 Nationals.

Automatic Tier 1 qualifiers were determined over the weekend in the following districts:

• Central Youth (Youth/Boys) and Girls
• New York Youth (Youth/Boys)
• Rocky Mountain Youth (Youth/Boys) and Girls
• New England Youth (Youth/Boys) and Girls 

Four district champions in Michigan and two in the Atlantic District were determined Monday. 

This year’s USA Hockey Nationals are scheduled to take place between March 30 and April 4 in the following locations:

• Youth (Boys) Tier 1 14U – Chicago, Ill. March 30 – April 4
• Youth (Boys) Tier 1 15U – Plymouth, Mich. March 30 – April 4
• Youth (Boys) Tier 1 16U, 18U – Rochester, Mich. March 30 – April 4
• Youth (Boys) Tier 2 14U – Kalamazoo, Mich. March 31 – April 4
• Youth (Boys) Tier 2 16U – Troy, Mich. March 31 – April 4

Atlantic District Youth

The Atlantic District’s Tier 1 girls’ Nationals qualifiers were determined last week, while four boys’ teams in each age group competed for the right to face the district’s top-seed in a three-game series this weekend. Those series will take place starting Saturday and running through Monday at the Ice House in Hackensack, N.J. The Atlantic District covers Central and Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.

Michigan Youth

The winners of the Tier 1 Michigan state tournaments earn automatic bids to USA Hockey Nationals. Last week the girl’s representatives were determined, and this weekend boys’ qualifiers will be decided in the 14U 15U, 16U and 18U age groups.
