Sponsor Profile... HARBORCENTER
Buffalo’s HARBORCENTER has been open for less than six months, and has already been home to a number of world-class events. The one-of-a-kind hockey and entertainment complex is a 650,000 square foot facility that is connected to the Buffalo Sabres’ First Niagara Center in downtown Buffalo, NY. The complex features two NHL size rinks, 13 ADA compliant locker rooms, classroom and theater facilities, a state-of-the-art training facility, sports-themed restaurant and bar, 205-room full-service Marriott Hotel, unique Tim Hortons Café & Bakeshop dedicated to the Sabres legend, and additional retail space.
In January of this year, HARBORCENTER was home to the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship which included eight teams from around the globe competing in a total of twenty-one games, enjoyed by over than 15,000 spectators. This spring, they will host the IPC World Sledge Hockey Championship with equally high expectations. Many other events including hundreds of games from HARBORCENTER Cup youth hockey tournaments, Canisius College (NCAA Division I men’s hockey), Buffalo Junior Sabres (OJHL and youth hockey), Midwest Prep Hockey League (MPHL), SuperSeries (AAA), and Junior Women’s Hockey League (JWHL) games, have brought upwards of 100,000 visitors to HARBORCENTER since the October 31st, 2014 grand opening.
The 2015 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships will be held at HARBORCENTER from April 26th to May 3rd. In addition, the NHL Combine will be held at HARBORCENTER and First Niagara Center in late May of this year.
