2014-15 Week #7 Rankings Released
MYHockey Week #7 rankings bring one big change this week. All pre-Labor Day Weekend games have been relabeled as non-counting games from a rating/ranking perspective. As MYHockey has done for the past five years now, games played prior to Labor Day Weekend (August 29th) have been changed to non-counting beginning the first ranking in November. While these games can be helpful to get the season started, many are played under different circumstances and what are supposed to be summer rosters. These games remain in the system, they will simply not be used in the ratings/rankings calculation process. On the Math page these games will be grayed out indicating that they are not used in the calculation process. Going forward, volunteers and guests will no longer be able to enter new August games into the system.
Two groups of exceptions exist for the non-counting rule. The WNYAHL and NJYHL Midget leagues begin league play in mid-August. As a result, games played by these teams against each other have been determined to be league games and are still being used in the rating/rankings calculation process.
This weekend is Veterans Day Weekend in the USA. First, let thank all active and retired Veterans for their service to our country. We don't say it often enough, but Thank You!
