2013-14 Week #24 Rankings Released
With the beginning of March, comes Week #24 and updated rankings. The season is starting to wind down and we had only 6000 new game scores added this week. Some of this is because there are less games being played, but there are a few volunteers who have lost interest as their team's season has ended (while others continue to play on). Please don't hesitate to register as a volunteer or even add scores as a guest. In the coming weeks, we will try to update all the guest entered scores in the system.
This week I'm also happy to announce a couple of enhancements are now operational in the system. We have implemented new change request functionality. If you find information that is out of date or just plain wrong, whether it is about a league, team, association or rink, use the purple pencil, "+" and/or "X" icons that now show in the upper right hand corner of the page to request changes. Typically you will request updates with the pencil icon, request some entry be deleted with the "X" icon and request that something be added with the "+" icon. In addition to this enhancement, we have improved the way rinks can be selected when scores are entered. Because some rinks have multiple names and/or previous names that people are still using, listing a rink once in the drop down list, under its primary name, doesn't always work. Rinks will now be listed in any name we have for it. These names will also appear in the rink directory search results. This should make the use of rinks much easier for everyone. So, if you know of a rink by another name, please don't hesitate to use the change request to let us know. By not having this functionality earlier, we have seen duplicate rinks added to our database. While we have tried to clean these up over the past few weeks, if you see any duplicates out there that need to be removed, please don't hesitate to let us know.
And we have another annual enhancement that makes its way onto the site this week, our first rankings in March... As we have done for years, USA teams that qualify for Nationals will now be identified with a USA flag. For the Boys Tier 2 USA National tournament qualifying teams, this flag will have a "1a", "2a" or "3a" indicating which bracket the team will be playing in. Now, all we need to know is which teams have definitely qualified. Again, if you know of a team that is now displaying the flag, please submit a change request using the pencil in the upper right hand corner of the team information (details) page.
Enjoy this weeks rankings!
