Rules Regarding Tournament Teams
MYHockey has been receiving a rash of email lately about tournament teams or secondary winter teams. These are typically teams where the players are registered on another team as their primary fall/winter team, but they play on this team in addition to their regular team.
Restating MYHockey's team/roster policy would be appropriate here. The policy is:
MYHockey cannot and will not police rosters. They change and sometimes teams use weekend roster fillers. It happens. The general rule is that a team is no longer a regular season team and becomes a special tournament team when it consists of three (3) or more players that are not regularly on the roster or if they have one (1) or more players and their tournament performance is 2.00 points greater than the rest of their season performance as measured by MYHockey. Note that someone will have to bring these situations to MYHockey's attention and ask that games be reclassified.
A natural corollary is as follows: any tournament team that contains less than three players from another team and plays at about the same level (with 2.00 points), may be considered the same team, regardless of the jersey worn or name used.
That said, MYHockey will be following up on a rash of recent inquiries about team identities. These will take time and your patience is appreciated.
