JUST WANT TO SAY THANKS THAT IS THE BEST CLARIFICATION TO THE AAA/AA TIER 1 TIER 2 ARGUMENT I HAVE HERD YET. I ALWAYS HEAR PEOPLE HERE IN WESTERN NEW YORK BICKERING IN THE STANDS AS TO THE DIFFERENT CLASSES AS TIER 1 BEING JUST 95 OR TIER 2 BEING 94/95. I WILL BE PRINTING YOUR WRITE UP TO SETTLE THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL {PROBALLY NOT REALLY ONCE AND FOR ALL BUT AT LEAST GIVING ME AMMO } THANKS MIKE CATH THE BUZZ GO BUFFALO HORNETS {95'S }

In Michigan you will find the "big 5" AAA teams that are in the MWEHL (which many believe is THE best league out there). There are a couple of other AAA start ups that are non-competitive and aren't in the MWEHL. However, at the Tier II level, there are now 3 levels: Yzerman, Howe and Lindstrom (don't ask me why they couldn't say something like 'Gold, Silver Bronze).

At any rate, the Yzerman level (top 12 teams)teams can compete quite well against "non MWEHL" AAA teams. The only difference is that they primarily play each other with the exception of AAA tournaments in Canada where they win a good portion of games.

The "Yzerman/Howe/Lindstrom" set up is only two years old but I think you will start to see that in Michigan the Yzerman teams are "like AAA" but just a little below the MWEHL teams. Hope that helps anyone who may be trying to set up games.
